Scott Phillips

Chief Executive Officer, LG NSW

Scott Phillips brings more than 25 years of local and state government experience to his role as the Chief Executive of Local Government NSW.

Prior to joining Local Government NSW, Scott was the Chief Executive Officer of Sutherland Shire Council.  His expertise spans many areas including managing urban growth, infrastructure and transport planning for local government areas and metropolitan growth centres.

Scott has held executive roles at several councils including as the General Manager in metropolitan and regional councils and the Planning Director at local and State government agencies.  Scott has been a Director on a number of public and private sector boards including Statewide and Local Government Procurement as well as serving on numerous ministerial advisory committees and industry panels.

Scott has taken a leading role in transformational leadership and organisational reform, business improvement and culture change.  His communication and service delivery skills give him a strong foundation which to build the future vision of the local government sector.
